Safety Tips

According to a survey from WHO, each year road traffic injuries take away lives of 1.2 million men, women, and children around the globe and injure many more. The death toll is on the higher side for the countries where pedestrians, motorcyclists and passengers are vulnerable and vehicles lack the safety norms, like India. Here are some safety tips for different road users.

  • Bicyclists

Never ride with just one hand on the handle bar except when giving a signal. Before turning right at a crossing, look back over your shoulder, and give way to the traffic coming from behind. Never stop your cycle on a pedestrian crossing.

  • Bus Commuters

Bus commuters should never board or deboard a moving bus. Maintaining a queue while boarding the bus will help avoid unnecessary hustle and bustle and will also save time. Driver should not make any unscheduled stops in the course of travel.

  • Car Drivers

Always carry your driving license and important documents such as your vehicle registration certificate, insurance certificate, road tax and P.U.C certificate with you while driving. Don't Drink while Driving. Obey all traffic signals.

  • Motorcyclists

Driving always carry your driving license and important documents such as your vehicle registration certificate, insurance certificate, road tax and P.U.C certificate. Avoid using the cell phone when driving. If urgent move to left, stop and take the call.

  • Pedestrians

Young children should not be out alone on the pavement or road ( see Rule 7 ). When taking children out, walk between them and the traffic and hold their hands firmly. Strap very young children into push-chairs or use reins.
